From: Philip O'Brien / Sent: 10 February 2013 10:33 / Subject: Thank you to everyone

I would like to say a huge 'Thank You' to Leslie, David, Omar and Marion at The British Chauffeurs Guild for the excellent Security Chauffeur Training Course I attended on Saturday 9th February 2013.

I knew I wanted to become a chauffeur but was unsure how to go about being trained.

I'd already spoken to several chauffeurs who'd completed the seminar and had said it was well worth going on. However, it massively exceeded my expectations.

The course was superbly presented, I received a detailed manual in order to continue the learning process and I now feel much more confident in how a professional chauffeur operates.

I can honestly say I am proud to wear the badge and be a member of The Guild.

In my opinion, the cost of attending this Security Chauffeur Training Course is an 'absolute no brainer' for anyone who is serious about their profession! I'm sure everything I've learnt, the Chauffeurs Permit and the Diploma of Merit I received at the end of the day will pay for itself very quickly and many times over.

To whomever is reading this.

I have been a member of the British Chauffeurs Guild since 1993 when they were still The Chauffeurs Guild. From the top down they are passionate about the industry and they have done more for it than any other organisation I know.

I moved down to London from Manchester in 1994 and within weeks I had a full time position thanks to the Guild, whilst I was being interviewed for the fulltime position I was given day work with various of their clients to keep me occupied. Throughout my 19 years in London the BCG has kept me in permanent positions for most of that time. The reputation of the BCG is excellent and the training is well worthwhile.

They have a trained a large number of chauffeurs over the last twenty plus years and the ones that show commitment to the trade go on and find good positions or get their own vehicles and do good business for themselves with the Guilds backing. I thank the BCG whole heartedly for the training, experience, work and most of all their friendship for nineteen years.  Many, many thanks to all of you.

I originally heard about The British Chaufeurs Guild (BCG) from a friend and enrolled on the Training course in 2002. This was an informative, fun and relaxed course with a wealth of knowledge, experience and loyality towards Chauffeur's new and old.

I have worked on behalf of BCG in various temporary and full time positions with the knowledge and peace of mind knowing that BCG are behind me, whatever problems I have, their experience and support, make them the industry leader.

When searching for a job, having membership to the BCG is a valuable "Ace Card" up your sleeve as more and more employers require that all possible candidates are members of the Guild.

The BCG have higher quality Chauffeur's position from Clients who are looking for more than just a driver.

Over the last twenty years I have found the British Chauffeurs' Guild to be an invaluable source of advice, support and both temporary and permanent employment.

Clear in its requirements, but always fair, it is run by people with first-hand knowledge of chauffeuring, and who bring all their long experience to bear when carefully matching members with clients.

I would urge anybody seeking to make their way in this occupation to join the Guild.

I recently became involved with The British Chauffeurs Guild after finishing a career lasting 30 years with the Metropolitan Police. I needed to find something that would allow me to use my advanced driving and protection skills coupled with all those years of people management! I found the course gave me the practical professional knowledge that is just not available from searching the Internet. It also gave me the chance to speak to instructors who actually to the job and learn for their experiences.

The main benefit I have found in working with the Guild is the level of personal involvement that the team bring. They work to tailor their work schedule with my individual needs. I was also pleased to find their administration back up excellent when I encountered problems with payment from a client. It was very quickly resolved.

The British Chauffeurs Guild have been invaluable to me in becoming a professional chauffeur.'

Hi David,

I have been with the British Chauffeurs Guild for a number of years, and joined as a person already experienced at chauffeuring.

I was therefore surprised when I attended the course, to find that there were nuggets of information which I found beneficial, and I was able to leave with the ability to improve my performance.

When joining a team such as BCG, two things are required of that organisation. One is a steady supply of good quality work, and the other is that the organisation should have a good, well defined ethos of the requirements and quality of service delivered to clients. This is vital both for the corporate reputation of the BCG, and for the individual reputation of the chauffeur who has aligned him or herself with that organisation. With the combination of the course as a foundation, and good monitoring with feedback to and from the individual chauffeur, and client, standards are maintained.

I now rely on the guild for almost all of my work as a freelance chauffeur, and find that I have a steady flow of good quality work, with a good percentage of clients being "regular".

Working through the Guild enables me to run my diary ensuring that I can balance my work life requirements, and all those requiring a chauffeur service are drawing on a multi resourced organisation with inbuilt back-up, and not a "one man band".

As things stand I hope to continue what has proved to be a profitable and amicable relationship for the foreseeable future.

Regards,

Terry Cheney (2110-CT)

My name is Roy Miller and I am a chauffeur for the B.C.G. I must say it is one of the best decisions I have made to became a chauffeur , very professional company.

After getting trained in the art of chauffeuring course, within a very short time after, you get a call to verify if you are available for work and then it is confirmed by email with all the relevant details, eg place, time, and clients details.

You then put all that you have learnt in to practice, it is a rewarding experience in more ways then one to see the client happy, you get to drive in the clients pride and joy taking care of it, as if it was your own as you are trained to give the client a prefect ride, without disturbing the clients car settings, being polite and courteous is generally rewarded with a thank you and a generous tip."

A Butler on Wheels...

Extending my gratitude to the Guild for my placement on the Refresher Intensive May 2013. Guidance, discipline and revaluation are the requisite ingredience for the longevity of a chauffeur. I have been a member for 15 years and I am so grateful for the ongoing tuition we as chauffeurs receive from the Guild whom is invariably on hand to dispense with insight.

A Butler on wheels is what we really are, with the willingness to go that extra mile without diminishing our skills of etiquette and diplomacy. The refresher highlighted the need to uphold and adhere to the Guilds standards, subsequently, dispelling the threat of complacency. I am confident, the Guild and its members will go on working as a collective unit, as our quest for excellence, continues.....................

BCG offers chauffeurs a varied list of interesting clients from the public sector, international business and to private individuals.  The job, and destinations, can change from day to day.  I've driven clients to a diverse range of places - the seaside, steel mills, the City and West End of London and various Crown establishments (no names!) to give a few examples.  The people at BCG HQ are always very friendly and helpful and they don't shout at you too loudly if things go wrong!"

From: Gray, Barry / Sent: 26 March 2013 15:45

Dear David

As you are aware, we are a busy office, providing an important role  in supporting the Mayor, who attends an average 500/600 engagements each Mayoral year. The permanent chauffeur will drive the Mayor to the majority of these functions, but inevitably will require cover when there is a clash of engagements between the Mayor and their Deputy, or is on leave and/or sickness, on occassions at very short notice. This is where the British Chauffeurs Guild has an important role to play.

We have used the guild for many years now, and you have always been extremely  supportive. Your chauffeurs are impeccably turned out, professional and above all discreet. As pointed out earlier we require chauffeurs sometimes at very short notice and yourself or your staff, have always managed to save the day, and furnish us with a competent chauffeur. I find your staff very helpful, and will always ring back with a solution.

The chauffeur's role within the Mayoralty is different in many ways to other driving duties, not least the security of the Mayoral chain. This is taken on board by  your chauffeurs, alongside the undertaking the duties of putting the chain on the Mayor/Deputy and removing it after each function and ensuring its safe return. This is again greatly appreciated as it is a duty over and above that, which  normally would be expected

I would have no hesitation in recommending the British Chauffeur's Guild.

Kind Regards

Barry Gray Mayoral Chauffeur – Wandsworth
